When considering planning a paving project, there are several key factors to consider;
The style of the house
The intended use of the area i.e. BBQ or driveway
The type of soil on site
Whether you want pavers manufactured from coloured concrete or natural clay (kiln fired)
Concrete Pavers or Clay Pavers;
Advantages to clay paving are that they don’t require sealing, are hard wearing and have a high level of stain resistance.
Concrete pavers are made from concrete, with colour added and sealing is normally recommended. They are generally cheaper, there is a large selection available of sizes and colours, and often manufactured locally.
Landscape Concepts have a large display of pavers at 11 Matthews Way for clients to view.
Two of the most important factors when constructing retaining walls of any description are the footing design and making provision for drainage.
ANY WALL OVER 1M HIGH OR WITHIN 1.5M OF A BOUNDARY REQUIRES A COUNCIL PERMIT AND AN ENGINEER NEEDS TO SUPPLY A PLAN.
Types of retaining walls we construct are:
Core-filled Concrete Blocked walls
Reinforced Brick walls
We install two main types of irrigation systems:
POPUP AUTO SYSTEMS: for lawn and turf areas either controlled manually or via an electronic controller. A convenient and effective way to keep your lawn green and healthy.
SUBSURFACE IRRIGATION: have water emitters to place the water in soil close to the root zone.
No surface run off,
Water goes directly to the roots of plants which can protect the roots of plant from frost damage.
With our equipment, we are able to cut, breakup and remove any old concrete.
Excavate sites and set up drain pipes and sumps.
Set up formwork and steel reinforcing mesh.
Place, level and finish off concrete.
Cut expansion joints in the slabs with the concrete saw.
Concrete removal and new concrete.
We specialise in:
Driveways, shed slabs, pathways, & crossovers.
A Garden gives a sense of joy and beauty, connecting us to the seasons and life cycles. It's helpful for our wellbeing.
The overall aim is to connect the house to the garden through transition points in a simple and practical way.
When considering a landscape plan or any garden construction it is helpful to plan the following factors, so that you know what you require before you ask for a quotation:
What is your current lifestyle? eg. Do you have a young family or are you retired etc.
Do you have time to maintain?
Do you wish to entertain? Is it a big part of your lifestyle?
What garden style do you prefer eg Modern, Native, Country ,Formal, Asian inspired.
Do you have plans of your house and boundary, and do you know where all the underground services are located? eg. Telstra cables, water pipes etc.
Does your garden have a northerly aspect?
Is it exposed to strong winds? Do you experience frequent winter frosts?
What type of soil do you have?
What are the access points to your property for machinery entry?
What is your budget for your intended project?
